Tutorial: Micelle Form factor
Tutorial contributors: Andreas Haahr Larsen.
A form factor of a micelle can be build up as a bombination of sphere form factor amplitudes. Micelle illustration from Wikimedia Commons.
THIS TUTORIAL IS NOT READY YET - WORK IN PROGRESS
Before you start
- Python or similar for importing and plotting data.
Learning outcomes
- Learn to build up af form factor from constituents with known form factor amplitudes.
- Be able to do a Porod plot and understand the interpretation of a Porod plot.
- Use Kratky plot to assess the foldedness of a particle.
- For protein, estimate the oligomeric state by determining the molecular weight, M
- Do an indirect Fourier transformation and retrieve structural parameters, Rg and dmax.
- Guess and overall shape using the pair distribution (obtained via indirect Fourier transformation).
